in object-oriented development methods since 1992. During that time, we
have provided expertise and assistance to hundreds of software developers
across a wide range of application areas. Our clients include industry
leaders such as IBM, Motorola, Dell, Compaq, QUALCOMM, Tandem, Siemens/ROLM,
and many others.

Charles Richter, founder of Objective Engineering, has
spent a decade in object-oriented software development, training, and mentoring.
During that period, he has been involved in several object-oriented development
efforts. Mr. Richter has been teaching object-oriented methods since 1991.
In his spare time, Mr. Richter serves on the faculty of the Software
Quality Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. He has given public
presentations and tutorials on object-oriented development at several major
conferences, including a tutorial on the Unified Modeling Language (UML)
at the most recent Object-Oriented Programming Systems, Languages, and
Applications (OOPSLA) conference.
Before founding Objective Engineering, Mr. Richter was engaged
in object-oriented development and research at MCC, a research consortium
in Austin, Texas. He has been a project leader and software engineer on
various projects.
Mr. Richter has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Purdue
University and a Master of Science in Computer Sciences from the University
of Texas at Austin. He is a past member of the Editorial Board of the IEEE
Computer Society Press.
Dion Messer, president of Objective Engineering, has a Masters
